In the Russian tradition, weaving is a language of women’s time: the repetition of gestures, the monotony of labour and the work of care become a household economy and a personal archive of memory. By joining craft and autobiography, the woven image becomes a site of self-observation and affirmation. I am an artist, a mother, a wife.
